#POKEMON SUN AND MOON ASH KETCHUM FULL#
In Gen 4 Ash went full throttle, he took all of his past experiences and turned it into wins, he also took up another mentor role to Dawn, although this role didn’t last long, because Dawn matured into a good trainer quickly. Ash matured a lot in this generation, enough to turn down a position in the battle frontier. I really thought Ash would win the league in this generation, and it seemed to be heading in that direction, but in the end he lost and realized he needed to keep learning. In this generation Ash became a proficient trainer who was good enough to become a mentor, he was a mentor to May and taught her a lot about Pokémon, May was exactly like gen 1 Ash in the beginning, so he taught her a lot and about his expierences. In Gen 3 Ash learned from his Johto mistakes and moved forward, he turned his defeat in the Johto league into a learning expierence. In Gen 2 Ash became more confident, Ash took his experience from Gen 1 and advanced further, he struggled a lot, but he failed in the end, he lost the silver cup (Johto league) he was still learning, he became a competent trainer. In the original Pokémon series, Ash was a regular kid who wanted to be a Pokémon trainer, he didn’t even know what type of trainer he wanted to he until episode 5 where he decided to do fun battles, Ash was a complete noob and didn’t know what he was doing a lot of the time, it was fun to watch, he was a novice trainer. My main problem with Ash didn’t creep up until after Sinnoh. A problem I have with Ash is that he resets his Pokémon every season (except pikachu, because that’s his starter) it just proves how he doesn’t have a strong bond and doesn’t care about his other Pokémon if he’s willing to just give them up to professor oak. He wasn’t always bad in my eyes, I actually liked him growing up. In my opinion Ash Ketchum is the worst protagonist I’ve ever seen on TV.
